Boys golf season ends in Beatrice

The Platteview boys golf season concluded at the Beatrice Country Club on Monday afternoon, where the Trojans finished seventh in the B-1 district tournament. Platteview struggled to a team score of 413 and didn't qualify any golfers for next week's state tournament in Kearney.

Hastings holds of Trojans girls at state soccer

A late goal in the first half proved to be the difference in Hastings' 2-1 victory over Platteview in first-round action at the state girls soccer tournament at Creighton's Morrison Stadium. Senior Kate Petersen's header with 7:31 left to play gave the Trojans hope for a comeback, but the Tigers held on for the win and a semifinals match-up with Gretna on Saturday.
