Platteview had two senior wrestlers bring home medals from the Eastern Midlands Conference wrestling tournament at Elkhorn South. Dan Eads finished second at 220 pounds, while Sheridan Mason captured third at 170. The Trojans finished eight in the team standings, two points ahead of Waverly.

Visiting Plattsmouth erased a 16-11 first-quarter deficit and went on to hand the Trojans boys a third straight loss, 58-44. Platteview watched the game slip away in the middle two quarters when the Trojans scored just 13 points. Junior Camden Persigehl paced Platteview with 16 points.

Platteview pulled away from visiting Plattsmouth in the final three minutes to score a 59-50 Eastern Midlands Conference girls basketball win. The Trojans improved to 10-10 on the season and 3-4 in EMC play. Sophomore Sydney Feller scored a career-high 16 points to lead three Trojans in double figures.

Platteview led by as many as 25 points in the second half on the way to a 45-29 victory over visiting Omaha Mercy. A trio of Trojans scored in double figures to pace Platteview. Whtiney Pratt and Nicki Stolzer each scored 12, while Kenzie Zach added 10.

The Nebraska School Activities Association has released high school football schedules for the next two years. Platteview will return to Class B for the 2012 and 2013 seasons and compete with Plattsmouth, Nebraska City and Waverly in the B-2 district.

Freshmen Nicki Stolzer scored 20 of her game-high 26 points in the second half of Platteview’s 54-39 victory over visiting Waverly. Junior Hailee Doering scored 13 points as the Trojans dominated the Vikings in the final two quarters to turn a one-point halftime lead into a comfortable win.
