Medal Matches

Seniors Isaac Roth and Matt Williams picked up second-place medals, while senior Noah Keyes placed fourth, at the 43rd Annual Plattsmouth Wrestling Invitational.

Roth, the defending Class B third-place state medalist, stuck Logan View's Nathan Kreikemeier at 2:14 of their 145-pound quarterfinals match and Auburn's Jarod Ketter in 30 seconds in the semifinals. He then lost 7-2 to Class A Lincoln High's Chase White in the 145-pound finals.

Williams did not wrestle in the finals after aggravating a nagging injury earlier in the day. He pinned Elkhorn's Logan Twist in the quarterfinals and Class A Bellevue East's Billy Sons in the semifinals before bowing out of the tournament.

Keyes pinned Seward's Brogan Dredge with a minute left in their opening match. He then fell to eventual champion Randy Fleissner of Elkhorn 7-6 in the semifinals. Keyes bounced back by with a third-period pin of Millard North's Aaron Wehr before falling to Auburn's Robert Georges 7-5 in the third-place match.

The Trojans finished 10th in the 13-team field. Host Plattsmouth easily won the team title by 44.5 points over Eastern Midlands Conference rival Elkhorn.
