Elkhorn outsts Trojans girls from EMC tourney

Game Stats

Elkhorn, ranked No. 5 in Class A and No 6 in the state, made quick work of visiting Platteview in the first round of the annual Eastern Midlands Conference girls basketball tournament. The Antlers raced out to a 19-1 first-quarter lead on the way to an easy 59-20 win to advance to the semifinals against fifth-seeded Plattsmouth.

Cathleen Cox led a trio of Antlers in double figures with a game-high 15 points. Brittney Lynch scored 11 and Courtney Jensen 10.

Platteview junior Laura Grubb led the Trojans in scoring with six points. Senior Bailey Moore pulled down six rebounds.
