Third time hardly a charm for boys at BlairTuesday, January 26, 2010Report By: Frank Staskiewicz, Jr. Please visit our Photo Store to view all images available for this event. Blair (9-5) 18 21 17 17 73 Platteview (5-8) 12 9 14 15 50 Game Stats Platteview's third shot this season at a win against Eastern Midlands Conference rival Blair turned into an unpleasant tasting rout in the second half as the Bears rolled to a 73-50 win in the first round of the annual conference tournament. The Trojans were in the game after one quarter, trailing just 18-12, but faltered in the second and found themselves trailing by 18 at halftime. Platteview didn't score until the 4:45 mark on a lay up plus a free throw by senior Andy Elliff in the middle of a 16-3 run by the Bears. An 8-2 run by Blair to open the second half gave the Bears a comfortable 24-point lead, effectively eliminating Platteview from the tournament, and ensuring an eighth straight loss to Blair. Blair shot 52 percent from the field, including 7-of-12 from the 3-point range. The Trojans shot 40 percent and made just one of seven threes. Senior Gage Wichman paced Platteview with 13 points. Blair's Jordon Flynn scored a game-hight 19 points for Blair. Zach Morris added 13 and Connor Ellis 10.
